Reds still in title race

The Reds fell to a 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge leaving Rafa Benitez's side falling to a third defeat in eight Barclays Premier League matches, one more than their entire 2008/2009 campaign.

However, Red Devils defender O'Shea believes United's bitter rivals are more than capable of turning things around.

In injury-time, with Sunderland down to ten men after Richardson had received two yellow cards, Anton Ferdinand deflected in an Evra shot to deny the Mackems a famous victory.

Spurs conceded early doors at the Reebok, from a corner visiting keeper Carlo Cudicini could only parry away a volley from Bolton’s South Korean Lee, and Ricardo Gardner was on hand to put away the rebound. Just after the half hour Spurs levelled, Palacios lifted a high ball into the box where Crouch’s cushioned header was lashed home by new-boy Nico Kranjcar. 20 minutes from time Bolton got their noses back in front as a delightful chipped cross from Tamir Cohen was converted by Kevin Davies at the back post. But within three minutes, and after Crouch had hit the bar, Spurs had levelled as Vedran Corluka directed a header back into the near post from a corner.
